Phu Cuong Kien Giang Ocean Urban Complex Project
The overall theme of the urban fully complies with the urban development master plan of Kien Giang Province as well as the Mekong Delta. The new urban complex will play an important role in diversifying the satisfactions of demands for residence, commerce and services from inhabitants and tourists.
A commercial and financial center in an “egg” shape seen from aero view, located at the central waterfront represents for “vitality and development” of the urban complex. This unique symbol is comparable with Opera House of Sydney, will represent for Kien Giang, the Mekong Delta and Vietnam.
Out of a total size of 1,466,812 sq meters, the new urban complex Phu Cuong Kien Giang Ocean Urban Complex will occupy 3 areas with allocated sizes as follows:
- Area 1: 1,262,931 sq meters (partly lot #4 & 5)
- Area 2: 98,881 sq meters (ocean expansion along Phan Thi Rang street)
- Area 3: 105,000 sq meters (new fish port next to Southwest Rach Soi inhabitation area)
The construction is expected to be implemented in 6 years (2009-2014), divided into 2 phases:
- Phase 1 (2009-2010) Construction of urban infrastructure and main traffic system;
- Phase 2 (2010-2014) Construction of remaining infrastructure and buildings for service, commercial and housing areas.
Phu Cuong Kien Giang Ocean Urban Complex is expected to be ranked the national 2nd class city. The overall allocation of commercial area with high-rise buildings along the main streets, behind the service area at a lower level, and behind luxury villas at a lower level, all facing to the sea, will create for the urban complex a wide open view to the sea.
Phu Cuong Kien Giang Ocean Urban Complex will be an attractive spot of the province in an attempt of attracting various and potential investments to the province, especially to the commercial hub along Ba Thang Hai and Phan Thi Rang streets. The economic structure of Kien Giang province as well as the Mekong Delta will be therefore improved.
