Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines) undertakes the responsibility of carrying out the construction of Van Phong International Trans-shipment Port Project in Van Thanh Commune, Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa Province. It is considered as a national key project, creating an important trade terminal and receiving freights, services from the important terminal system, such as Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong.

The potential planning of Van Phong International Trans-shipment Port Project is carried out on a total area of 765 ha. The development plan is divided into different phases with accordingly total estimated investment in the potential phase of 3,553 million USD. In starting phase, 2 wharves are constructed with edge of 690m long, 8m deep and crest level of 4m high; capable of receiving container ships with capacity of 6,000-9,000 TEU, meeting requirement of passing freights of 710,000 TEU/year. The completed wharves will be equipped with unloading machinery, yard, control management station and synchronized technical infrastructure, meeting international standard.
Meinhardt in association with Port and Waterway Engineering Consultant Joint Stock Company (TEDIPORT) is appointed to undertake the provision of construction supervision consultancy services for items “Reclamation, construction of the underwater revetment, container berths and retaining wall” in Sub-project 1 – Investment Project on construction of Van Phong International Trans-shipment port Project (Starting phase).
